If you are a BBQ cuisine enthusiast then searching for a tasty, steaming, and delicious BBQ in Islamabad must be a real challenge! Well, we have made posts about BBQ places in Islamabad, more than any other cuisine. The restaurants for BBQ which we have reviewed are,
This time we tried to search for BBQ in F10. This landed us at Khabby Ki Sajji! The place has a very attractive sign (billboard) which involves desi style truck art and they offer open air as well as dine in options. They are located just opposite to Syrian Shawarma which is another popular place. I image the competition being neck in neck but I am not sure about the preference of customers as I am new to F10 markaz.
The interior of the place where dine-in is offered is a small room with a fridge for cold drinks and two doors, one for kitchen and other for their store. The room has one glass wall that is stacked with columns of desi chooriyan (bangles) which made me nostalgic for chooriyan! Corporate life has taken away my own chooriyan craze! Their serving comes from a window which has exterior of the desi rickshaw which was fascinating for me.
MENU
Their menu card is colorful with the similar touch of truck art. They have another menu card for their deals which offer ''Thaali Deals'', one with rice and one with naan. Well, I think the rice deal is just a replication of mandi which is Arabic dish, but served with desi style BBQ chicken on top rather than roasted chicken of mandi. Other than that, their menu is categorized as follows:
- Grill (Typical BBQ items)
- Gravy (Chicken Karhai, Chicken Makhni, Irani Qeema, Mirch Chilli Karhai etc.)
- Extras
- Tandoor
- Drinks
- Sajji menu

EXPERIENCE
I loved the display of thali. The naan was topped with spicy
BBQ with the side of onion, cucumber, and lemon and two chutnis. BBQ included:
Malai Boti, Patakha Boti, Tandoori Boti, Seekh Kabab, Cheese Seekh Kaba,
Quarter Masala Sajji, and Naan of course. I was highly disappointed at the
taste. It displayed good and tasted bland. The only tasty item on the thaali
was malai booti. Strangely, the masla sajji had no masala whatsoever. The sajji
was raw which spoiled my mood. I asked the sajji to be changed which was
changed to an overcooked sajji piece with no masala. The cheese seekh kabab had
negligible cheese. The only good thing I liked was the coca cola. Yes! Patakha Boti was too red made me suspicious after raw sajji that its blood or color!
