Hakim Baba Aghani Tikka Burger

Sometimes we crave desi street food. No fancy lights or tables just the desi dhaba style food which is tasty and budget friendly. There is for sure a list of must haves for street food as well. We reviewed melody food park which offers desi style BBQ and handi options. I you didn't read, check it out here. Today, we are bringing another review for street style Afghan Burger which is our new favorite go-to burger. Located near Dwatson of Jinnah Avenue, this cabin is named:

HAKIM BABA AFGHANI TIKKA BURGER

It is a small cabin with display and serving stands on either side. There are two thin boys who prepare and serve the dishes. There is not sitting arrangement so the set up is humble but their food is for sure tasty as well as economical.

MENU

Listed below is their menu:
  1. Afghani Tikka Burger (large) - PKR 300
  2. Afghani Tikka Burger (medium) - PKR 200
  3. Shawarma - PKR 160
  4. Chicken Soup with Egg - PKR 130
  5. Chicken Soup Simple - PKR 100
  6. French Fries - PKR 70, 100, 150
  7. Mayonnaise Topping - RS. 40
They serve Afghani tikka burger and shawarma in a neatly wrapped butter paper and put it in brown bag or paper plates depending on whether the order is take-out or dine in. Since there are no chairs or tables for dine in, the side stands offer humble serving area. Since there are many offices in blue area, I noticed that a lot of people want to try this burger. The cook makes fresh burgers and shawarmas but also the prepared burgers and shawarmas are neatly stacked on the stand ready to be served when order is received. So, their service delivery is hygienic, timely and quick. I noticed that there was a disposable gloves pack hanging on the cabin and the cooks were wearing aprons and disposable head caps and I found it worth mentioning as the cooks realize that hygiene measures are a great appear to customers especially corporate customers who are conscious in post pandemic world.

OUR ORDER

We ordered 06 Aghani Tikka Burger and one large fries because I went with my colleagues to see what the hype about this burger is all about. This was our little team's venture to try HAKIM BABA AFGHANI TIKKA BURGER.

OUR EXPERIENCE

We had a wonderful experience to try HAKIM BABA AFGHANI TIKKA BURGER. The burger has generous filling of chicken tikka shredded meat, french fries, pickled vegetables and mayonnaise and their green chutni as well as other sauces. We ordered medium Afghani Tikka Burger and the medium size was loaded with goodness of taste and was very filling. The pita bread was fresh and light, the potatoes were crispy and tasty, the tikka chicken was mild flavored that is not too spicy. The first bite was so satisfying that I did not notice how quickly we devoured our burgers. At the end our tummies were full and we were satisfied, happy customers. To mention, the fries were served in the box and we were allowed to add chutni, mayonnaise, and spices as per our liking. There was a big tissue role so that customers can wipe their hands and faces and there was a big dustbin just to dump the used plates and napkins. I find the cleanliness measures commendable given that its a street food setup. Usually, vendors neglect these measures.
